i met x last night at a bar and we hit it off immediately. x spent undergraduate years at the american university in paris and is working towards a masters in hiv/aids policy and is described as very liberal. we start talking about hiv/aids in africa and the public's awareness of the situation. i recall, rather cleverly, that nelson mandela's son recently passed from the disease. x is appalled that i want to be an investment banker and i retort "an investment banker with a social conscience!" x is also sceptical about religion to which i say "jesus was a socialist."
x takes my cell number down and promises to call but it's been close to 24 hours now and there has been no call.
