evolution

i was wondering today why the evolution/creation debate has never cropped up in the malaysian education system despite being islam influenced. i know that right from form 1 (or sec 1), i learnt about pre-history, the paleolitik and mesolitik eras, and how man has evolved since. but why haven't we been exposed to the intelligent-design concept or the something-out-of-nothing theory because the qu'ran is definitely on the side of creation, right?
