eating pureed potato and chicken soup for meals makes me lust after nice, juicy steaks. i could really do with a nice filet mignon or a t-bone steak. and why is it that when i can't eat solid food, i start reading about steaks. like i read about a 2 kg steak in texas. this restaurant, amarillo steaks, doesn't charge anything if you order and finish a 2 kg steak plus trimmings in an hour. and then i was reading about steaks in the 'eat out' section of the newspaper. drool..

was packing my notes just now for things that i will bring to the US and i found mr leong's 'chinese new year goodies' and the 'valentine's special'. cheesy, but brings back fond memories. memories of when mr leong was actually a not too bad tutor...when i enjoyed econs tutorials. i guess that all changed in year 2 huh with that incident and then he suddenly clams up, treats us with kiddy gloves ... probably wrote me a bad report even though i really like the subject and to a lesser extent, him as an econs tutor.

also found when packing notes, maps of the NYC subway and a map of New York, NY printed off Yahoo! Travel. those were the days of wishful thinking......zipping across the city in the magnificent (not to forget acrid, crowded and expensive) subway from class to class, chilling on the steps of the Low Library, sitting on my window sill overlooking a chic street of New York, and all the perks of being a Columbia student! incidentally, my friend just showed me his fake id, and incidentally, it says that he's from columbia! also he's supposed to be 23 y/o.

unrelated: but i have to bring this up. remember that old man who relief taught us for like a long time during j1? what was his name? wasn't it the slackest time ever? i remember coming late for class one day and i had to sit on the front row. and i was very tired that day so i fell asleep and the next thing i knew, the tutorial was over and that guy woke me up to tell me it was over. haha...

all that stuff i printed also reminds me of the time i spent in L28, the old computer lab, surfing and printing stuff. quite fun but really, was it necessary? but it also reminds me of a really funny incident. i was printing some econs stuff when i went to the front to collect it, lo and behold there was this poster size printout ( i'm talking something like 2 feet by 3 feet) of the UPenn application. i surmised that either the would-be applicant was desperate to get into UPenn or he had chosen the plotter instead of the printer. but it was so funny....and the culprit was nowhere in sight.
