what a week!

it's been a tremendous week kids. wednesday thursday and friday were spent tottering about the world bank taking pictures and getting overwhelmed by the concentration of power under one very fantastic roof. the weekend started with an invitation-only reception at the international finance corporation where i was too shy to drink more than a glass of chardonnay. then, friday night saw me at a club with this group that i've recently joined and we danced along to videos of kelly clarkson (they didn't have anything by sugababes!). i ran into a friend from philly who promptly commented how tan i had become over the summer (and it was dark in the club too). shopping and cooking on saturday leading to a well stocked refridgerator and freezer. for lunch, i baked a cheese pizza but topped it with pesto, fresh tomatoes and deliciously gooey mozarella. not satisfied with that, i baked a batch of chocolate chip cookies and then started on dinner - spaghetti in a vegetable and mushroom marinara sauce. sunday came and i fixed myself a big breakfast of sausage and eggs and settled down to watch some good old wimbledon tennis but had to leave before the second set even ended. dim sum in chinatown with three white people who poked at their food and inquired if i could order them anything that didn't have carbs. bitches. walked down to the freer gallery for 2046 and got quite confused with the dialogue. dinner at gazuza in dupont punctuated by two glasses of wine makes this one great weekend.
