it's so funny that this is probably the only band to have a template for their songs and videos. there's leadsinger shane who almost carries all the songs by himself and then there are the other three members who might as well be background vocals because you never hear their voices. and then their videos, so formulaic. screen opens with a shot of all four, then a close up of leadsinger shane singing the first few bars, then the start of a narrative (probably involving some young, attractive couple mulling over something (conflict!)) then leadsinger shane, then couple fighting/becoming friendly, then chorus with all four, then couple getting together (resolution!), then leadsinger shane finishes song and looks wistfully past camera.
so kitsch. so fantastic.

tube map

today i stood in front of the tube map at angel underground, thinking of a place to go to instead of doing homework. i must have stood there for five minutes, checking off the places that i've been to and gradually getting irritated because there just wasn't anything interesting to do and then i gave up and came straight back to my room. no, wait, actually on the walk home, i stopped at marks & spencer's to get myself meatballs and marinated chicken thighs.
m&s is definitely one of the highlights of my time in london: fast, reasonable, friendly, delicious, extremely close by.
if only they had one of these on broad street, like next door to mcpc instead of a suck ass chinese take out place.

i need to convey this message: i am living a fairy tale life but i know it will end come january.

how fantastical is this experience? to attend a diversity business conference where all these big banks try to woo you to apply to their companies and pepper you with freebies and lindt chocolates?
and then to celebrate guy fawkes day with a humongous bonfire, friends, fireworks and smirnoff. it was right out of a enid blyton book, sparklers and rockets, accents and festivities!

i'm hesitant to tell you my secret but here it is: i've applied to 8 of the 17 investment banks that i have on my list. i've done two online tests, written many essays and filled out a lot of other useless information.
i really do want a job in this sector; it's interesting and rewarding.

kicking and screaming

i was almost literally dragged through hot coals while completing my internship worksheet just now. all these retarded questions like "what have you learnt from you internship?" and "what can your company do to improve itself?" all i said was fuck, fuck, fuck.
