prying eyes

i have a feeling this blog is being watched. no more posts for now. check for a new address.

torn

i am sitting at my desk, reading an online economist article about rodrigo rato, imf's new managing director and the changing role of the fund. the tv's murmur hums in the background and a tingle sounds "Access Hollywood's 25 Hottest Celebrities under 25". With my interest piqued, I plop myself on the couch and quickly forget about Mr. Rato and the IMF.
this perfectly describes my current attitude: i long to be an intellectual but the inner airhead in me says NO. i want to be knowledgeable, intelligent, well read but yet in touch with style and fads. it seems as if the two don't mix, i can't be both. and for now, i'm complacent at saying 'yes, bring the prada on.'

monty python

lance, i forgot to tell u that i watched 'holy grail' in january. it was quite funny but i felt that it was overhyped. the people here are nuts about monty python; they keep making inferences to the movie. here's a sample conversation:

wee: my work at the library sucks.
anon: what floats in water?
wee: a duck.
anon: a duck! (said with a British accent)
